Kaiser Permanente is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our team in Clackamas, Oregon.
Job Summary:As a Diagnostic Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures in a hospital and/or clinical setting, including OB/GYN, abdominal, and vascular superficial structures. You will also be required to perform clerical duties as needed.
Essential Responsibilities:- Performing diagnostic procedures using knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the age of the patient served, including routine, emergent, portable, and surgical examinations in accordance with department policies and procedures.
- Communicating with radiologists and assisting patients/transporting them as needed.
- Reviewing exams, filing work, restocking supplies, and performing quality assurance functions.
- Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited ultrasonographer program or 2 years of previous ultrasound experience.
- High school diploma or general education development (GED) required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certificate - Ob-Gyn required at hire from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).
- Sonography Technologist License (Oregon) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 1 month of hire.
- Daily use of diagnostic equipment and imaging and healthcare computer systems.
- Demonstrating customer-focused service skills and ability to use and apply excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Minimum 1 year of experience performing ultrasound exams, preferably within the last 3 years.
- Vascular ultrasonographer experience preferred.
- Organizational skills, time management, prioritization, planning, attention to detail, problem-solving, decision-making, judgment, technical skills, initiative, communication, interpersonal skills, customer relations, and organizational relations.
Notes:
- 30-hour night shift (Thur-Sat).
