We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Child Care Worker to join our team at Safe Harbor Center. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a safe and nurturing environment for residents aged birth to 17.
Job OverviewThis is a full-time position that requires a minimum of two years of experience in childcare, education, or social services. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively as part of a team, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of resident files, including daily logs, time sheets, and staff communication records.
- Resident Supervision: Provide close supervision and support to residents, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being, and facilitating their social development.
- Cooking and Housekeeping: Participate in cooking duties, house cleaning, and other assigned tasks to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
- Transportation: Transport residents to school, medical appointments, and community activities using the Safe Harbor Van.
- Maintenance of Medications: Manage and administer medications according to established protocols and procedures.
- Communication: Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless transitions and provide timely updates on resident needs and behaviors.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum two years of experience in childcare, education, or social services.
- Age: Must be at least 26 years old (as per state child care licensing requirements).
- Certifications: Infant CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory.
