Surgical Technologist

Houston Methodist is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist - Sr. to join our team. As a key member of our operating room team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support during surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Pre-Operative Preparation: Prepare the operating room, equipment, and supplies for each procedure, ensuring that all necessary instruments and materials are available.
- Surgical Assistance: Assist the surgeon and nursing staff during surgical procedures, passing instruments and supplies as needed, and maintaining a sterile environment.
- Instrument Management: Maintain and update instrument sets, ensuring that all instruments are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored.
- Quality and Safety: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance patient care and safety.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination during surgical procedures.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military training equivalency.
- Experience: Two years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and one of the following: Certified Surgical Assistant (NCCSA), Technologist in Surgery-Certified (NCCT), Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA), or Surgical Technologist Met Grandfather Clause (Bill or meet the Grandfather clause (Bill 643)).
