Job Title: Registered Nurse - Residential

Outreach Development Corporation is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a residential setting. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to adolescents in our treatment program.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse will assess the health-related needs of our clients, monitor their ongoing health and wellbeing, and provide direct care and coordination of health services. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct and monitor medication calls and health calls as scheduled
  • Supervise the Licensed Practical Nurse daily
  • Work with clients and guardians to schedule medical appointments and conduct follow-up as required
  • Complete a Supervisory Note twice a month for full-time and once a month for part-time LPNs
  • Work with the Agency psychiatrist to ensure timely medication refills and communicate with guardians regarding medications and changes
  • Provide on-site health services to address emerging and current health needs of adolescent clients
  • Provide training and guidance to staff members on emergency health situations
  • Establish and monitor health-related policies and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment
  • Provide immediate first aid in health emergencies and escort clients to emergency services as needed
  • Attend Supervision with the Nurse Supervisor at least once a month or as necessary
  • Conduct health assessments and make recommendations on appropriateness for treatment
  • Follow up on health-related referrals and maintain a tracking system for client contacts and health issues
  • Effectively communicate with staff on health-related issues and create health and wellness activities for residents
  • Provide staff education on health-related responsibilities and issues
  • Prepare Health Alert documentation and create training for staff on crisis intervention
  • Participate in agency-wide meetings and unit meetings
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations
  • Complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience working as an RN in a mental health and/or substance abuse treatment setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare policies and procedures
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
