We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Imaging Support Specialist to join our team at Bozeman Health. As an Imaging Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Outpatient Imaging department.
Key Responsibilities- Assist radiologists and technologists with interventional procedures, providing exceptional patient care and support.
- Act as a patient escort, preparing patients for exams, providing comfort during procedures, and ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Verify orders, lab results, and pharmacy reviews for every patient prior to appointment, and facilitate corrections or gathering of information as needed.
- Properly complete or verify orders for billing and PACS system, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
- Assist with making follow-up appointments and manage same-day add-on scheduling for patients.
- Ensure efficient department workflow, exam room turnaround, and order management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and a professional demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
- Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintains confidentiality.
- Proficient in computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications, and standard office equipment.
- Lifting, pushing, and pulling: Lift 30 pounds of weight, carry equipment/supplies.
- Extended hours: May involve working for extended periods, requiring sitting, walking, or standing for eight or more hours daily.
- Flexible schedule: May necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
- On-call availability: May be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
- Effective communication: Proficient in effective communication, both in person and through various technologies.
- Handling challenging situations: Ability to de-escalate situations and work effectively with frustrated patients, families, or employees.
- Repetitive tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks as needed to fulfill job responsibilities.
Job tasks may involve exposure to:
- Bloodborne pathogens, such as blood, bodily fluids, or tissues.
- Radiation in settings where medical imaging procedures are performed.
- Variety of chemicals and medications used in healthcare settings.
- Infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
