Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Supply Chain Intern to join our team at Miller's Merry Manor. As a Supply Chain Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the planning and purchasing departments, including creating bills of material, production routings, and material procurement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Planning and Purchasing departments with creating bills of material, production routings, and material procurement.
  • Learn how to properly evaluate production capacity and accurately schedule product shipping dates.
  • Actively engage and work in partnership with plant leadership and support personnel to understand manufacturing processes.
  • Learn and support planning and purchasing responsibilities and functions, including but not limited to:
    • Referencing engineering drawings, and accurately creating bills of material(s) and routings in the Visual ERP system.
    • Properly utilizing material resource planning, and accurately purchasing raw materials required for production orders.
    • Thoroughly evaluating capacity of different resources to appropriately schedule product shipping dates.
    • Creating or editing documentation needed to support the Supply Chain department.
  • Perform project work for an assigned area and/or scope of work, and present related information to corresponding stakeholders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field, plus one (1) year of completed course studies in area of emphasis.
  • Experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, a plus.
  • Core People Skills, including the ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Communication Skills, including the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and obtain clarification, and respond well to questions.
  • Computer/Applications Skills, including strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
  • Core Business Skills, including the ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.

Working Environment

While performing the essential responsibilities of this position, Team Member generally will work in an office environment, with occasional work in an industrial manufacturing environment, where moderate background noise, presence of natural and artificial light, exposure to work temperatures from ambient to controlled, hard walking surfaces for standing and walking, and moderate amounts of airborne graphite dust, are present. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as approved footwear, respirators, safety glasses/goggles, etc., may be required.

Compensation

The minimum and maximum hourly range for this full-time position is $23.00-$27.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
