Job Summary

This is a part-time instructor position in the Continuing Education Workforce Development (CEWD) department at Alvin Community College. The successful candidate will teach a variety of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) courses and provide quality instruction in a safe environment to students.

Responsibilities
  • Teach CNA courses and evaluate student performance
  • Develop and implement curriculum for CNA programs
  • Coordinate clinicals and classes
  • Manage class schedules and order textbooks
  • Assist with graduate job placement
  • Provide instruction and supervision to a diverse population of students
  • Develop and utilize course syllabi and assessments
  • Maintain current knowledge of effective teaching methodologies
  • Recruit and retain students
  • Advise students in academic matters
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback
Requirements
  • Current State of Texas nursing license
  • One year of nursing experience in a long-term care facility
  • Current, valid driver's license
  • Current, negative Tuberculosis (TB) test result
  • Basic computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products
  • Basic proficiency in online tools such as Blackboard
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher in Nursing
  • Two years of licensed nursing experience providing direct patient care in a long-term care facility or skilled nursing facility
