Key Responsibilities
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Assist with month-end close procedures, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
  • Assist with year-end tasks, including audit preparation and tax filing.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring all business transactions are recorded in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Manage the general ledger, identifying and correcting any discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline accounting procedures and refine financial reporting processes.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare detailed reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to maintain up-to-date knowledge.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proven experience with balance sheet reconciliation, month-end close, year-end tasks, journal entries, and general ledger.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is a plus.
