Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and leadership to custodians in the performance of day-to-day duties
  • Perform routine manual work in housekeeping and cleaning of interior spaces and immediate exterior areas
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, polish, and dust furniture, and clean restrooms, windows, blinds, mirrors, etc. in buildings across campus
  • Complete all tasks on custodian's building task lists, as well as all general cleaning
  • Provide quality customer service and demonstrate caring behavior by utilizing positive interpersonal skills
  • Respond to inquiries in a timely, efficient manner
  • Meet regular attendance requirements and work overtime as scheduled
  • Closely observe and adhere to all safety rules and regulations as listed on product and equipment labels and as directed by management
  • Leave work site clean and orderly, and insure that all tools and equipment are cleaned and materials are secured
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two (2) years of custodial experience
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some supervisory/work leadership experience
