Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Med Surg Post Surgical team at Wellstar Health System, Inc. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide individualized patient care.
  • Provide relationship-based patient-centered care, adapting service delivery to reflect an understanding of cultural diversity.
  • Partner with patients and significant others to set and achieve goals, using effective communication methods.
  • Practice using current clinical practice standards and evidence-based practice.
  • Coordinate the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care, promoting a respectful and inclusive clinical environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities to promote safe and quality patient care.
  • Complete initial and ongoing professional competency assessments, required mandatory education, and population-specific education.
  • Serve as a preceptor and/or mentor for other professional nurses, ensuring a qualified workforce and modeling the professional practice of nursing.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in nursing or Graduate of accredited/approved school of nursing.
  • Minimum 2 years direct patient care nursing experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English language, optimize the use of technology to support clinical care, and hold basic computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies using a decisive, composed, and respectful manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to practice nursing using evidence and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
License and Certification
  • Reg Nurse (Single State) Required.
  • RN - Multi-state Compact Required.
  • Basic Life Support Required.
  • BLS - Instructor Required.
  • BLS - Provisional Required.
