KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
This role involves welcoming, guiding, and assisting patients and visitors in a professional and efficient manner throughout their experience. Responsibilities include scheduling and registering patients, ensuring the accurate collection of necessary information. The Patient Services Coordinator will also assess eligibility for services and provide guidance to patients regarding payment policies, while monitoring and collecting outstanding payments. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in the waiting area, keeping patients informed about wait times, and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service to a diverse patient population.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic financial management skills, including cash handling, charge posting, and deposits.
- Proficiency in navigating various software applications, including EHR systems, Microsoft Office, scanners, calculators, and multi-line telephones.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience as a receptionist in a healthcare, dental, or social services environment.
- Strong financial management or accounting skills.
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a plus.
