About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Specialist to join our team at Virtua Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with approved techniques and NRC/ACR standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality nuclear medicine studies according to protocols established by the radiologist and alter protocols as necessary to achieve desired results.
  • Administer radioisotopes and perform venipuncture while adhering to established protocols.
  • Conduct routine calibration on equipment without assistance and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure safety precautions are followed when handling radiopharmaceuticals and safeguard against unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Prepare kits according to manufacturer instructions and use aseptic technique when preparing radiopharmaceutical kits and injecting patients.
  • Utilize RIS, PACS, and hospital-based computer programs effectively and maintain confidentiality of electronic communications.
  • Respond to changes in the work schedule and cover all shifts on a rotational basis, including call hours and after-hours shifts.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Current N.J. license in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
  • Registered by the ARRT and/or certified by the NMTCB preferred.
  • CPR certification preferred.
