Overview:
The Senior Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for conducting diagnostic tests across various specialized areas, tailored to the operational needs of the laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts comprehensive testing across all laboratory sectors to provide critical data for disease diagnosis and management.
- Executes all technician responsibilities and may take on the role of Senior Medical Technologist or Chief when necessary.
- Analyzes and interprets results from diverse laboratory procedures.
- Troubleshoots equipment issues after consulting with the supervisor.
- Engages in the department's quality assurance initiatives.
- Maintains accurate records and handles clerical tasks pertinent to the department.
- Aids in the training and onboarding of new staff and students.
- In the absence of the immediate supervisor, communicates abnormal test findings to the physician.
- Contributes to the employee performance review process.
- Participates in comprehensive laboratory coverage, whether on a scheduled or on-call basis.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field, along with certification as a medical technologist from a recognized national certifying body is required. Candidates must also maintain necessary state licensure as applicable.
