Position Overview:

The Senior Vocational Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering both direct and indirect nursing care to patients experiencing urgent, emergent, or potential health issues. This position requires the application of fundamental nursing principles, ethical practices, and concepts under the guidance of a healthcare practitioner to effectively address patient needs within a medical office environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage timekeeping and advance scheduling for designated units.
  • Oversee supply chain requirements and ensure compliance with facility and governmental regulations.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by participating in staff interviews alongside the supervisor.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, infection control, and safety protocols.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong understanding of nursing principles and patient/family education strategies.
  • Proficiency in computerized practice management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Effective communication skills; bilingual in Spanish is advantageous.

Qualifications:

Mandatory:

  • Valid California LVN license.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
  • IV Certification.

Preferred:

  • Experience providing direct nursing care in a medical office setting.
