Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the neonatal unit, utilizing the nursing process and relevant standards of care.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Conduct thorough health histories, physical examinations, and psychosocial assessments to identify patient needs and develop effective care plans.
- Prescribe medical equipment, devices, physical and occupational therapy, and home health services as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to identify, develop, and implement plans of care that maximize individual patient/family preference and enhance quality, access, and cost-effective outcomes.
- Formulate plans of care, along with the attending physician, patient, and family, based on expected goals of care and length of stay.
- Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement clinical studies and research protocols, as applicable.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on evidence-based healthcare practices and protocols.
- Current registration as a Professional Nurse in New York and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in New York.
- Master's Degree in Nursing as a Neonatal NP.
- Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) by ANCC or Board Certification from another specialty organization.
- At least five years of clinical nursing practice in the care of the patient population served.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
