RAYUS Radiology is seeking a dedicated Patient Services Coordinator to enhance our patient care experience. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting patients and healthcare professionals by managing phone communications, organizing appointments, and warmly welcoming patients.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Registration (55%):
- Welcome and check-in patients for imaging services, ensuring accurate demographic data collection and processing of payments.
- Manage incoming calls with efficiency and friendliness, directing inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Serve as a communication link between technologists and patients awaiting exams, providing updates on scan status and clinic information.
- Maintain a tidy front office environment, including organizing reading materials and coffee supplies.
- Order necessary office supplies and keep patient information sheets readily available.
- Facilitate imaging processes through electronic systems and make confirmation calls to provide patients with preparation instructions.
- Handle faxes for reports, billing, and medical release forms as needed.
2. Insurance Coordination (20%):
- Verify patient insurance details and pre-certify exams with insurance providers.
- Obtain necessary authorizations and utilize knowledge of insurance protocols to secure waivers when required.
- Manage requests for information release from patients, referring offices, and other entities, adhering to company policies.
3. Appointment Scheduling (20%):
- Coordinate transportation, interpreters, and accommodations for patients as necessary.
- Enter and submit patient exam orders, ensuring alignment with scheduled appointments.
- Schedule referrals and confirm proper authorizations are in place.
- Manage walk-in patient appointments and process requests for imaging orders and CDs from physicians and patients.
- Maintain an accurate database of current and potential referring physicians.
4. Additional Duties (5%):
- Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the team and enhance patient care.
