Job Title: Junior Civil Engineer

Actalent is seeking a junior-level Civil Engineer to join their team in Waterford, MI. As a Civil Engineer, you will perform engineering, construction, and design assignments on various municipal projects in Metro Detroit.

Responsibilities:
  • Soil and/or concrete observation and testing of water, sewer mains, and manholes
  • Documentation and reports of all construction project activities
  • Performing analyses and design required on the projects
  • Preparing sketches and diagrams for use by field techs
  • Reviewing and checking drawings and layouts
  • Assisting in the preparation of contract/proposals specs and construction cost estimates
  • Reviewing subcontractor shop drawing submittals
  • Performing construction monitoring and coordinating field activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 2+ years of civil engineering experience, ideally within Municipal or Transportation sector
  • CAD skills (AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or Civil 3D is ideal)
  • EIT or PE
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PE license
  • Project Management skills
  • Soil and/or Concrete testing experience
  • ArcView or ArcMap experience
  • Design of water and sewer utilities experience
