About FASEB
Founded in 1912, the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology (FASEB) stands as the largest coalition of biomedical researchers in the nation, representing 22 scientific societies and over 110,000 individual researchers globally. FASEB is recognized as the leading advocate for biological and biomedical research scientists.

Primary Responsibilities
The Program Director for FASEB's Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) program is tasked with overseeing the professional development curriculum associated with this initiative. This includes:
  • Formulating and executing project plans and timelines to achieve program objectives.

About the MOSAIC Program
The FASEB MOSAIC program, funded by the National Institute of General Medical Science's Maximizing Opportunities for Scientific and Academic Independent Careers (MOSAIC) Institutionally Focused Research Education Award, aims to support a cohort of early-career, independent investigators from diverse backgrounds as they transition into research-intensive faculty roles. The program is dedicated to diversifying the biomedical research community and fostering long-term improvements in inclusive research environments at institutions and within scientific societies. This initiative is expected to enhance health research outcomes by integrating diverse perspectives to tackle scientific challenges.

Support for MOSAIC Scholars
MOSAIC scholars (K99/R00 grantees) benefit from training, mentoring, and networking opportunities to enhance their research team management skills. The program focuses on helping scholars:
  • Develop research management competencies by leveraging a network of experts and mentors across scientific societies.
  • Build resilience and confidence to navigate challenges, achieving research career milestones within their institutions and through professional service.
  • Access enduring support systems that include skills development, peer support, and safe spaces.

Location
This position is based in Rockville, Maryland, with options for remote work. The organization currently operates under a remote-first policy, allowing flexibility in work arrangements.

  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years of program management experience is required.
  • Preferred experience includes:
    • Program management in adult education and professional development.
    • Managing programs funded by grants or other third-party sources.
    • Familiarity with biomedical research and research institutions.
