Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Paralegal I to join our team at the Skagit County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our attorneys and staff in the preparation and prosecution of cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including summons, complaints, and affidavits of probable cause.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support case preparation and prosecution.
  • Assist in the maintenance of case files, including updating and tracking case information.
  • Communicate with law enforcement agencies, witnesses, and other stakeholders to gather information and coordinate case activities.
  • Provide support to attorneys and staff in the preparation of trial materials, including trial notebooks and exhibits.
  • Assist in the coordination of court appearances and trials, including preparing and serving subpoenas and other court documents.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; paralegal degree or certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a court or legal environment, with a focus on criminal justice or prosecution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with law enforcement agencies, witnesses, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
