Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead-Staff Chief Engineer. This position involves overseeing a diverse engineering team, typically exceeding 10 members, on medium to high-risk projects.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected individual will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team throughout various phases of product development, including proposal, design, manufacturing, and delivery. This role requires effective collaboration with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Mission Assurance.
- Direct and manage cross-functional engineering teams during all project phases.
- Contribute to proposal development and support new program acquisition.
- Interpret and implement statements of work as directed by program leadership.
- Establish and manage project budgets and timelines, utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and critical path management.
- Coordinate with functional departments to ensure adequate team staffing.
- Engage with suppliers to clearly communicate project requirements.
- Provide updates to internal and customer leadership regarding project progress.
- Thrive in a dynamic work environment characterized by high expectations and diverse assignments, demonstrating self-motivation, organization, and attention to detail.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience, or a Master's Degree with at least 12 years of experience. An additional 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret Clearance are required.
- Proven experience as an Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead or in a similar leadership role, showcasing team-building and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated engineering leadership experience in a collaborative environment.
- Strong knowledge of design, manufacturing, or testing processes.
- Proficiency in developing and managing project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in developing complex RF or Digital systems and subsystems.
- PMP certification is advantageous.
- Active Top Secret government clearance is a plus.
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) with EVMS project management.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $157,500 - $236,300, reflecting various factors including position responsibilities and candidate qualifications.
