Electromechanical Assembler Specialist

As an Electromechanical Assembler at Ducommun, you will be responsible for performing light electronic and/or electromechanical assembly work for Radiofrequency switches, pushbutton switches, and similar assemblies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembly procedures may involve soldering where access is somewhat difficult.
- Assembly of various detail parts into semi-complex assemblies using various assembly techniques.
- Must be able to assemble parts using different types of tooling to achieve desired results.
- Must be able to interpret instructions to mix various epoxies and paints for marking/bonding.
- Able to work with working parts or components which require special care in handling or other procedures which require good dexterity and facility in use of a variety of hand tools.
- Work is not typically highly repetitive, but the cycle of repetition may be short enough to allow the development of some habit patterns.
- Must be able to work with assembly equipment such as arbor presses, pneumatic presses, ultrasonic welders, etc.
- Must be able to work from wiring diagrams, detailed drawings, standard work instructions (SWIs), or other input documents of similar complexity.
- May make minor procedural decisions in soldering, fitting, etc., but always within established guidelines.
Requirements:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Should have familiarity in reading and interpreting documents such as blue prints or mechanical drawings.
- Must be able to work under a 10X microscope.
- Basic knowledge of the types of Electronic Components is a must.
- Ability to build electronic assemblies.
Education and Experience:
- Vocational, High School diploma, or general education degree (GED); or 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior solder and assembly experience. (5+ years preferred)
- Experience with RF switches is highly preferred.
- Experience with pushbutton switches is highly preferred.
