Manufacturing Engineer, Secondary Structures Specialist

Vast is a pioneering company in the field of space exploration, and we are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Secondary Structures Manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in the development of the systems required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing engineering, preferably in the aerospace or avionics industry, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities will include collaborating with design teams to provide input on the manufacturability and assembly processes of secondary structures, developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and onboard equipment for manufacturing of secondary structures, and creating and maintaining detailed manufacturing plans, assembly procedures, and work instructions to ensure consistent and accurate production of structures systems.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and resolving manufacturing challenges by conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions, working closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality secondary structures components, and participating in design reviews to provide valuable insights to improve the manufacturability and reliability of secondary structures components.
