Position Summary
As a Licensed Pharmacy Professional within the MedBox division, you will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding customer service, collaborating effectively with colleagues, and ensuring the pharmacy operates seamlessly. This position involves managing communications with patients and healthcare providers, overseeing pharmacy technicians, and conducting essential pharmacist verifications. Your primary focus will be on patient care, adherence to regulatory standards, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Additionally, you will engage in inventory management, workflow optimization, issue resolution, staff performance assessments, and assist management in overseeing all pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional service to patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and ensuring their needs are fulfilled.
- Oversee a team of pharmacy technicians, providing direction, support, and maintaining a professional and encouraging work environment.
- Execute pharmacist duties with precision, including pharmacist verification 1 (PV1) and pharmacist verification 2 (PV2); efficiently manage prescription transfers; ensure patient safety through Drug Utilization Review (DUR) and Drug-Drug Interaction (DDI) assessments; and comply with all regulatory requirements.
- Manage inventory effectively, including delegated drug ordering tasks, maintaining optimal stock levels, preventing shortages or excess, and ensuring loss prevention.
- Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy regulations, including record-keeping, controlled substance management, and safeguarding patient privacy.
- Maintain an organized workflow and workspace to minimize errors and delays, ensuring timely medication delivery to customers.
- Identify and communicate any operational issues to management, proposing viable solutions or enhancements.
- Evaluate staff performance to ensure adherence to best practices, identify training needs, provide constructive feedback, and report any instances of negligence or non-compliance.
- Collaborate with the team to enhance operational efficiency, suggesting process improvements and implementing best practices.
- Perform recall duties as assigned, ensuring prompt and accurate management of any recalled medications or products.
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service abilities, with a focus on empathy, effective communication, and professional issue resolution.
- Strong leadership and teamwork skills, capable of supervising and motivating pharmacy technicians.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Proficient in computer skills, including experience with pharmacy software systems and electronic health records.
- Comprehensive knowledge of state and federal pharmacy regulations.
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient care while managing multiple responsibilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify challenges and propose effective solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly and effectively.
- Adaptable to changing priorities and willing to take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
Education and Experience
- Valid Pharmacist license in CA, in good standing and compliant with all licensing requirements.
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Licensed Pharmacist.
