Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Intellectual Property Legal Assistant to join our team at Gravis Law, PLLC. The successful candidate will provide administrative and legal support for the administration of our intellectual property portfolio, including patents, copyrights, trademarks, and licensing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and manage day-to-day client and attorney functions related to intellectual property practices.
  • Process incoming and outgoing file transfers and prioritize action items based on urgency.
  • Submit patent, trademark, and copyright applications and file associated documents with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Copyright Office.
  • Manage client reporting and deadline tracking processes, including status updates to clients, communications from the USPTO, docketing deadlines, and reminders.
  • Support time entry and billing process and collaborate with Accounting as needed.
  • Remain current with changes to USPTO policies and processes.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent experience in a skilled administrative role is required.
  • Familiarity with USPTO filing systems.
  • Familiarity with International IP filing systems, particularly through WIPO, is preferred.
  • Management of docket using internal software solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
  • Proficiency in Adobe is preferred.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable managing deadlines.
  • Ability to perform effectively with little or no supervision and within established time limits and ongoing deadlines.
Work Environment

Duties will be performed in a standard office environment. Employees must have the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Gravis policy. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to work weekends, holidays, be on call, and some employees could be required to travel overnight on occasion.

Salary

$28 - $30 per hour
