At Arkansas Hospice, Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Staff Registered Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and their families.
Job SummaryThe Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating the care of assigned patients, providing education and support to patients and families, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Provide safe, high-quality, and comprehensive nursing care to assigned patients, families, and caregivers.
- Assess patient/family needs and develop individualized care plans that address physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
- Collaborate with the hospice physician and interdisciplinary team to provide patient care that emphasizes symptom control and addresses the spiritual and emotional needs of patients and families.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Document patient care and progress accurately and thoroughly, maintaining up-to-date patient records.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on hospice care and related topics.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and other care plan meetings to ensure comprehensive care.
- Conduct evaluations of CNA's and/or LPN's as required.
- Adhere to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
- Continually meet organizational standards for attendance and punctuality.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Previous nursing experience in a hospital, home health agency, or hospice preferred; new graduates also eligible.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Arkansas.
- Ability to work flexible hours and occasional overtime required.
- CPR certification required.
This role requires:
- Knowledge of palliative care with emphasis on symptom control associated with terminal illness.
- Knowledge of the holistic approach toward patient care and the nursing process as it applies to hospice patients and families.
- Knowledge and acceptance of hospice philosophy and principles of care.
- Skill in organizing and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines.
- Ability to recognize both positive and negative aspects of death and grief.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to follow basic safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to use good judgment and to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Ability to demonstrate tact, resourcefulness, patience, and dedication.
