The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly experienced Architectural Designer to join our esteemed Education Studio. Reporting to the Studio Design Directors, you will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative and impactful design solutions for K-12 and Higher Education projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with talented designers and managers, upholding the firm's core design principles.
Responsibilities
- Champion design excellence throughout all projects within the studio.
- Implement the firm's established design process and leverage innovative tools to achieve our design objectives and brand identity.
- Collaborate closely with Project In-Charge (PIC) and Studio Design Directors, providing comprehensive support to the project team throughout its lifecycle. This includes interpreting design intent during construction documentation (CD), addressing client inquiries, and resolving technical challenges.
- Present compelling design concepts to clients, honing your presentation skills to effectively communicate your vision.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of materials and resources, ensuring their appropriate application in projects.
- Lead the production of high-quality design deliverables, encompassing functional concepts, visualizations, schedules, and budgets.
- Contribute to project success through exceptional design and planning, facility requirements analysis, conceptual design development, systems integration, and teamwork.
- Ensure strict adherence to building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Possess strong programming and strategic planning skills.
- Promote technical and professional excellence within the team.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies relevant to project production and communication, identifying opportunities for implementation.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
Qualifications
- A professional degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
- 8+ years of experience in the architectural design industry, with a proven track record of exceptional design work within the Education sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in all phases of the design process, from conceptualization to construction documentation.
