About the Department

The Department is a leading academic unit within the School of Applied Sciences, dedicated to advancing knowledge and understanding in the fields of criminal justice and law studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and publish in reputable academic journals.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of courses, including criminology, law studies, and related fields.
  • Secure and manage extramural funding to support research and academic initiatives.
  • Provide service to the Department, School, University, and community through various activities and committees.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, law studies, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and research experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to secure and manage extramural funding to support research and academic initiatives.
  • Effective teaching and mentoring skills, with a commitment to student success.
  • A clearly articulated service agenda, with a focus on contributing to the Department and University communities.
