Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Design and develop traffic engineering plans and specifications for roadway, trail, and pedestrian projects.
- Analysis and Assessment: Conduct analysis and assessments of intersection and road section designs to ensure compliance with VDOT standards.
- Project Management: Manage traffic impact study projects from start to finish, including coordination with stakeholders and team members.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest traffic engineering technologies and techniques, and apply this knowledge to improve project outcomes.
- Education and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (with emphasis in transportation) and 5-7 years of experience in traffic engineering.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong communication and organizational skills, proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and knowledge of TOPSAM requirements, Chapter 527, VDOT LAP, and Smart Scale process and requirements.
