Custodian Assistant

About the Role:

The Custodian Assistant will be responsible for ensuring the facility meets or exceeds standards of cleanliness to the utmost in guest satisfaction before, during, and after all events. This includes performing light and heavy cleaning tasks, operating cleaning equipment, and maintaining a positive, outgoing demeanor.

Responsibilities:

• Arrive for each scheduled shift on time and ready to work
• Perform cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and disposing of garbage
• Clean and sanitize common areas, restrooms, meeting rooms, exhibit halls, and ballrooms
• Operate cleaning equipment, including scrubbers, buffers, and carpet extractors
• Restock restrooms with supplies and maintain custodial closets and supply rooms
• Work safely, quickly, and efficiently to meet all deadlines
• Maintain a positive, outgoing demeanor and acknowledge guests in a friendly manner

Requirements:

• Cleaning or event-related experience preferred
• Basic understanding of how to use cleaning equipment
• Ability to operate scrubbers, buffers, carpet extractors, and other cleaning equipment
• Ability to work morning, afternoon, and/or overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to stand on feet for up to 8 hours at a time, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach above head
