Cafeteria Associate Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cafeteria Associate is responsible for providing exceptional food and service to patients, cafeteria customers, and catering customers at Northern Light Health. This role involves food preparation, cash handling, and delivering catering services to various functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow departmental policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible with work schedule.
  • Provide excellent customer service, engaging with customers and seeking out those in need of assistance.
  • Prepare food for the salad bar, keeping it well-stocked and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Operate the cash register, managing daily overages and shortages.
  • Prepare and deliver catering events, ensuring timely setup and presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with catering customers to ensure satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils.
  • Assist with receiving and putting away orders, rotating stock, and minimizing overproduction.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
  • Ability to lift, move, and load 20-30 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Working Conditions:

The Cafeteria Associate may be exposed to noise levels that are uncomfortable and may be required to extend their body and limbs to reach items.

Education:

High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) is required.
