At The Salvation Army Central Territory, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Thrift Store Clerk to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Thrift Store Clerk will be responsible for maintaining the thrift store at standard operating level and completing all daily duties and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all shelves and clothing racks are full and organized to promote sales.
  • Assist the management team in investigating and pricing items to be sold, as needed.
  • Process all merchandise efficiently and properly following established standards.
  • Stock racks, shelves, counter or tables with merchandise to promote sales.
  • Responsible for learning and training on the entire processing system, including cash registers.
  • Maintain a clean environment throughout the store, including shelves, counters, and tables.
  • Provide excellent customer service by being polite, prompt, and courteous, in line with The Salvation Army's mission.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Retail and/or cash register experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to be flexible and work on multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
  • Basic computer skills with ability to access payroll, timekeeping, and personal data via a web-based system.
  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken, and ability to maintain effective working relationships.
  • Attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong independent judgment.
Working Conditions:
