Job Overview:

This role requires a commitment to working overtime as necessary. The position will be filled based on departmental and plant seniority among qualified employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support the carpet yarn line operator and team members.
  • Learn and execute all necessary machine and support equipment setups.
  • Utilize mechanical skills to operate, set up, and troubleshoot equipment as required.
  • Operate cutting equipment for carpet yarn tubes.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on various equipment associated with the carpet yarn line.
  • Demonstrate proficiency to operate machinery on a substitute basis when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Strong communication and housekeeping skills.
  • Commitment to safety protocols.
  • Flexibility in working hours.
  • Ability to interpret Oracle production orders and accurately enter data.
  • Track and report production metrics, including scrap rates and machine efficiency.
  • Support crew members with setups, packaging, quality requirements, and production specifications.
  • Maintain accurate machine logs and report quality measurements.
  • Understanding of tube constructions and cutter setup procedures.
  • Positive attitude with strong leadership capabilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) requirements.
  • Proactive in identifying cost-saving opportunities and communicating them to management.
