Transport Equipment Operator

At Inquipco, we are seeking a highly skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting large cranes and equipment to/from job locations, mobilizing/demobilizing cranes safely, and performing related administrative functions to support work for Inquipco California & Nevada.
Key Responsibilities- Safe Transportation: Safely transport heavy equipment to and from various job sites, ensuring compliance with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Vehicle Operation: Operate and maintain heavy equipment transport vehicles, including 9-Axle Truck/Trailer, ensuring compliance with all traffic and safety regulations.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of large cranes and equipment onto/from transport vehicles using appropriate equipment and securing methods.
- Equipment Check: Monitor critical assets and inspections/service due during Check-In/Check-Out and document. Report and document damage for bill out.
- Preventive Maintenance: Assist with fleet readiness by conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance on transport vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Documentation: Complete necessary paperwork, including DVIR Inspections, daily DOT logs, delivery confirmations, maintenance logs, inspection checklists from customers, and customer signatures when/where required.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatch, job site personnel, and other team members to coordinate transportation schedules and address any issues that may arise.
- Adherence to Regulations: Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing the transportation of heavy equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Follow established safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Minimum Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Technical education or work experience equivalent to a 2-year college or trade school.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE DRIVING 9-AXLE TRUCK/TRAILERS AND HAULING LOADS IN EXCESS OF 160,000 LBS. + UNLADEN TRUCK/TRAILER WEIGHT.
- Minimum of 5 years of transportation experience required at a substantial operating unit of a successful heavy equipment seller, leaser, and operator business.
- Proven leadership experience in a service role; preferably at least 7 years of leadership experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge:
- Understanding of road safety regulations.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment transport vehicle operations.
- Basic knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with geographical areas and effective route planning.
- Skills:
- Required: 9-Axle Truck/Trailer Driving Experience.
