Job Summary:

The Clinical Support Resource Nurse RN supports high-quality, patient-centered care by offering feedback, guidance, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty.

This role provides guidance and education on the hospital's standard of nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with all accrediting and regulatory agency requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs rounds on each nursing unit.
  • Observes and assesses the quality of patient care being delivered.
  • Identifies nursing educational needs.
  • Escalates concerns about nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as appropriate.
  • Ensures nurses within scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • 2+ years' experience as a RN.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
  • Preferred: 1+ years' experience in a leadership role and 1+ years' experience as a preceptor.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
