About the Role

As a key member of the PartnerRe team, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and profitability in our Health Division. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of Underwriters and contribute to the development of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Portfolio Management: Oversee the HMO, Provider, and Medical Excess portfolios to ensure profitability and stable expansion, aligning with corporate objectives.
  2. Reporting and Analysis: Collaborate with the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and Head of Health to develop and deliver management reports, providing regular updates and feedback.
  3. Case Activity Management: Underwrite, review, and approve case activity in the product pipeline, adhering to authority levels and internal review processes.
  4. Team Leadership: Lead and manage an Underwriting team of Senior and Assistant Underwriters, establishing key goals, providing feedback, and promoting thought leadership.
  5. Professional Development: Contribute to the growth and development of team members, providing training and guidance to achieve superior results.
  6. Cycle Activity Management: Oversee and efficiently manage cycle activity to ensure turnaround metrics are achieved and exceeded.
  7. Market Intelligence: Identify, monitor, and report on the impact of market changes, product enhancements, competitor developments, and industry and legislative trends.
  8. Collaboration and Partnership: Work with Pricing Actuaries to address underwriting model and rating requirements, state filings, and similar needs, as well as with Health subject matter experts to address large claims, reimbursement, reporting, cost management, and related issues.
  9. Compliance and Governance: Ensure that forms and documents meet business needs, as well as compliance and governance standards.
  10. Customer Partnership: Support customer partnership and relationship goals by building customer loyalty and communicating value propositions of the business.
