Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Technologist to join our team at LabCorp in Vancouver, WA. As a key member of our laboratory operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the supervisor with day-to-day operations, sending production reports, and training new hires.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the supervisor with laboratory operations and ensure smooth day-to-day functioning.
  • Send daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to management.
  • Train new hires and develop current employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory equipment, including instrumentation and reagents.
  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to established SOPs.
  • Report accurate and timely test results to ensure quality patient care.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.
  • Assist with processing of specimens when needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Technician/Technologist.
  • ASCP and/or AMT Certification/Generalist required.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience is preferred.
  • Understanding of laboratory operations and policies and procedures.
  • Proficient with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Comfortable making decisions in a changing environment.
  • Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position.
