Concrete Finisher

William Vaughan Company is seeking a skilled Concrete Finisher to join their team in Holland, OH. As a Concrete Finisher, you will play a crucial role in smoothing and finishing concrete surfaces to complete construction projects from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with ordering concrete when needed
- Have a basic understanding of concrete additives, including benefits, do's, and don'ts
- Place concrete, signaling truck drivers, moving chutes for concrete placement, and operating electronic buggying equipment
- Exterior Concrete Finishing: screeding, bull-floating, darby, joint tooling, edge tooling, broom finishing, and contraction joint sawcutting
- Interior Concrete Finishing: hand screeding, understanding laser screed placement processes, understanding concrete pumping processes, hand troweling, and walk-behind machine troweling
- Place forms to the correct line and grade to ensure the required depth and pitch is achieved
- Monitor the effect of heat, wind, and cold on curing concrete to ensure high-quality results
- Understand the affects of cold-weather concrete placement: the do's and don'ts
- Install anchor bolts, steel plates, and grouting base plates
- Polish surfaces using smoothing materials, abrasive tools, and surfacing machines
- Align forms for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters, including ADA ramps
- Compact materials using plate tamps
- Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete
- Supervise and train workers to help shore up the team
- Ability to layout and picture frame edging on sidewalks
- Decorative Concrete Experience
- Ability to operate ride-on power trowel
- Ability to operate laser screed
- Ability to read plans and think critically with such information in the field
- Ability to form, brace, place, strip, finish, and rub concrete foundations
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with concrete
- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in various concrete applications, including but not limited to: curbs, sidewalks, ADA curb ramps, approaches, concrete pavement, large building slab pours, elevated slab pours, stamped/decorative concrete, and more
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Engages in efficient time management to ensure tasks are prioritized based on importance and urgency
