QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, or Physical Sciences) and/or equivalent relevant experience recognized by the New York State Department of Education for licensure as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.

Prior experience in a Clinical or Pathology Laboratory is advantageous, but not mandatory.

Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is preferred, but not required.

Strong communication and evaluation skills are essential, along with exceptional documentation abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specimen Analysis & Reporting:

Conduct accurate specimen analysis and report findings in accordance with established protocols; identify deviations from expected results, troubleshoot issues using scientific methods; maintain daily QC Action Logs, preventative maintenance logs, and pending lists.

Training & Development:

Support the onboarding and training of new staff members; assess training progress and recommend improvements in training techniques and content.

Process Evaluation:

Continuously evaluate laboratory processes and propose enhancements to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and address operational challenges; oversee departmental reagent inventories.

14621 The stated base pay range reflects a good faith representation of potential base pay for a successful full-time candidate.
