Empath Health is seeking a qualified Temporary Staff Pharmacist to support our pharmacy operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Compound, prepare, package, dispense, distribute, monitor, and control all drugs.
- Provide drug information and supervise pharmacy technicians.
- Read, screen for interactions, clarify incomplete, verify questionable, and document physician orders.
- Fills and dispense prescriptions.
- Follow department procedures for supervising, checking, and initialing technician P.O. and I.V. orders.
- Prepare IV and TPN solutions.
- Dispense controlled substances according to DEA regulations.
- Provide drug information requested by physicians and Hospice Staff.
- Meet Hospice and department requirements for attendance and punctuality.
- Meet department dress code.
- Know and follow safety and infection control procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacy Operations Manager.
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Licensed as a Pharmacist with the Florida Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy.
- Continuing education: Meet continuing education requirements as noted by the Florida Department of Health, Board of Pharmacy Division.
- Certifications (i.e. CPR): Valid CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association, if immunization certified.
- Professional interaction skills with medical, nursing and ancillary staffs.
- Able to supervise technician and volunteers.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Excellent telephone manners.
- Supports Hospice philosophy and objectives.
- Able to lift light loads and has good eye-hand coordination.
- Sterile product experience.
- Retail/outpatient/hospital experience.
