We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist I to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our home health services team, you will provide evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation, consultation, and skilled treatment for patients in the greater Wake County area of North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostic Testing: Administer basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations in the area of occupational therapy for the treatment of functional deficits and related impairments.
- Education: Teach and supervise graduate occupational therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents. Develop innovative programs to enhance patient care and serve as a resource consultant to other clinicians in respective specialty areas.
- Evaluation of Care: Analyze results of diagnostic and/or therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify subsequent treatment programs. Identify expected patient outcomes and communicate relevant information to promote continuity of care.
- Implementation: Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services. Provide habilitation/rehabilitation and maintenance of persons with related impairments. Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs.
- Outreach/Community Involvement: Serve as a resource to North Carolina government departments and statewide health professionals in specialty areas. Present at local or state level, participate in community health screening and events, and participate in the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs.
- Participation: Contribute to quality of clinical services through attendance and participation in departmental meetings and in-services.
- Quality: Contribute to quality of clinical services through maintenance of valid and reliable records of patient procedures and progress. Participate in quality improvement initiatives with the clinical specialist and other healthcare professionals.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program.
- Licensure/Certification: Licensed as an occupational therapist in the state of North Carolina.
- Professional Experience: No prior experience required.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
