Job Summary:

This is a highly skilled, rehabilitative work position with patients whose abilities to cope with daily tasks are impaired by developmental deficiencies, aging, medical concerns, or psychological and social disabilities.

As an Occupational Therapist I, you will provide evidence-based occupational therapy evaluation, consultation, and skilled treatment for patients. You will document activities, instruct patients, family, and students, and work under the general supervision of an Occupational Therapist II or Occupational Therapist Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer basic and complex diagnostic tests and evaluations in the area of Occupational Therapy for the treatment of functional deficits and related impairments.
  • Teach and supervise graduate Occupational Therapy students and/or clinical fellows/residents.
  • Develop innovative programs to enhance patient care and serve as a resource consultant to other clinicians in respective specialty areas.
  • Analyze results of diagnostic and therapeutic testing to establish patient goals and modify subsequent treatment programs.
  • Select and apply current and advanced techniques to provide quality and efficient rehabilitative services.
  • Organize and prioritize care according to patient/family needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of new clinical programs to meet emerging needs.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina.
