Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit team at West Tennessee Healthcare. As a Critical Care Unit Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and prioritize patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, monitoring patient responses and adjusting care plans as needed.
  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, documenting findings and developing plans to address patient needs.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as pharmacy and laboratory, to ensure accurate and timely patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, providing 24/7 coverage to ensure patient needs are met.
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Tennessee.
  • Completion of a diploma or associate degree in nursing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple patients, and maintain accurate records.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
