We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our team at Kern Community College District. As a Custodian I, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine custodial activities, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, as well as cleaning classrooms, lounges, and offices.
- Empty waste receptacles, spot mop and shampoo spills, and remove gum, debris, and graffiti as needed.
- Clean and disinfect drinking fountains, restroom facilities, and other high-touch areas.
- Operate custodial equipment, such as vacuums, mops, and buffer/scrubber machines.
- Participate in thorough cleaning and restoration of campus facilities during vacation periods.
- Perform minor grounds maintenance duties as assigned.
- Any combination equivalent to at least six months related experience.
- Knowledge of proper methods, techniques, materials, tools, and equipment used in modern custodial work.
- Ability to perform routine custodial activities, maintain District buildings and adjacent grounds in a clean, orderly, and secure condition, and use cleaning materials and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
