Nurse Care Specialist for Acute Trauma Unit

We are a 383-bed hospital located in Bradenton, FL, on a thirteen-acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement, and inpatient rehabilitation. We are a state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota, and DeSoto Counties.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Progressive Care Registered Nurse in our Trauma Step Down Nights unit. This is a $108,000 per year opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our patients and their families. Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-centered care, collaborating with medical providers, and advocating for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. This includes:
- Assessing patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Performing procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
- Documenting the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
- Administering prescribed medications and monitoring response.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following qualifications:
- Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
