Exciting Opportunity for a Quality Assurance Inspector
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Inspector to become a vital part of our team at Tad PGS. This role is essential in ensuring the highest standards of quality in our manufacturing processes.
Salary: $53,040.00
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process and final inspections of products utilized in aerospace manufacturing.
- Review engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing documents to assess inspection requirements.
- Select appropriate inspection methods and tools; plan inspection sequences and utilize precision measuring instruments.
- Perform inspections using standard positioning and measuring equipment.
- Apply shop mathematics, including decimals and fractions, in the execution of inspection tasks.
- Carry out first article, receiving, in-process, and final inspections on a variety of aerospace components.
- Certify the acceptability of first piece parts and oversee in-process inspections during assembly stages.
- Inspect incoming materials for compliance with specifications, including verification of vendor certifications.
- Evaluate reinforced plastic and rubber products for defects and ensure quality standards are met.
- Check part configurations and dimensions using assembly check gauges and tooling.
- Prepare shipping documentation for non-metal components in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Monitor curing processes and perform or observe testing to ensure product integrity.
- Document inspection results and coordinate with engineering and customer representatives for process improvements.
- Compile end item documentation for the acceptance of finished products.
- Maintain accurate records and history files related to inspections.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; AA or trade school degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Quality Assurance inspection experience.
- ASQ Certified Quality Inspector certification is preferred.
- Experience in an AS9100 production environment is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using basic inspection tools such as calipers, scales, and micrometers.
- Familiarity with production processes including assembly, welding, and heat treatment.
- Knowledge of metallic materials and composite production processes.
- Understanding of AS9102 standards and military specifications.
- Experience directing the work of QC Inspectors is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and communication skills.
- Proficient in using MS Word and Outlook.
