ROLE SUMMARY:

The Teaching Artistry and CEPS Coordinator plays a pivotal role within the Community Engagement and Professional Studies Team at NEC. This position is integral in delivering comprehensive administrative support for NEC's prominent Teaching Artistry initiatives, as well as the broader Community Engagement and Professional Studies Department. Responsibilities include overseeing logistical operations related to the Teaching Artistry and Music Education Concentration, along with the Teaching Workshop Series, which encompasses data management, promotional activities, and invoicing processes.

This full-time role is grant-funded and encompasses a structured academic year schedule, with some flexibility for hybrid work arrangements. The Coordinator will report directly to the Dean and Chair of Community Engagement and Professional Studies (CEPS) and collaborate closely with the CPP Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support for NEC's Teaching Artistry initiatives and related activities within the CEPS Department.
  • Assist the Assistant Dean of Community Engagement and Teaching Artistry with various administrative tasks, including record management, financial transactions, marketing material production, event planning, and data analysis.
  • Oversee marketing, registration, and administrative tasks for the Teaching Workshop Series.
  • Coordinate scheduling and logistical arrangements for NEC's CEPS Scholar in Residence.
  • Support the CPP Administrative Director with office logistics for the CPP and CEPS Teams.
  • Facilitate scheduling and logistical details for programs hosted in community venues, fostering relationships with local partners.
  • Prepare and supervise NEC students at CPP events within community settings.
  • Provide logistical support for student professional development activities.
  • Organize and curate educational resources and materials for students.
  • Maintain departmental databases and event calendars, supporting marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the CPP program and grant proposals alongside the Administrative Director of CPP and Dean of CEPS.
  • Act as an ambassador for the CEPS department and NEC, representing the institution positively within the community.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A Master's degree or higher is preferred, ideally in Music Education, Performance, or Arts Administration.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex scheduling and organizational tasks.
  • Proven administrative skills to implement strategic initiatives effectively.
  • Ability to adapt and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent organizational, writing, and computer skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with Teaching Artistry practices is advantageous.
  • Experience in K-12 education, music education, and community engagement is beneficial.
  • Event planning experience, particularly in educational and community contexts.
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships in urban educational settings.
  • High emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse individuals.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Survey Monkey, Mailchimp, and social media platforms is a plus.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is preferred.
