Anesthesia Technician
Role Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for executing assigned tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This includes assisting in the setup for anesthesia administration and intravenous line placement, preparing patients and necessary equipment, managing supply orders, and performing various non-nursing tasks that contribute to patient care. The technician ensures that all required supplies and equipment are readily available and functioning properly, while also maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
Operating Room / Cardiovascular Operating Room Details
- Handles approximately 6,500 surgical procedures each year.
- Provides services across all specialties, excluding ENT and Eye, with a focus on neuro and spine surgeries.
- Comprises a total of 10 operating rooms, including 2 specifically designated for cardiovascular procedures.
- Operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the year.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of high school or equivalent educational attainment.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of experience in a relevant healthcare setting, ideally within an operating room, or a combination of education and experience that meets this requirement.
Licensure and Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- After two years of employment, the technician is required to successfully complete the Technician certification examination through the ASATT.
