We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (PRN) to join our team at US Oncology. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid physician during examination and procedures.
- Observe, record, and report patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
- Perform EKG and oximetry readings as required by physician.
- Obtain blood specimens from peripheral sites as needed and in accordance with OSHA and universal precautions.
- Phone in prescriptions and make other patient calls as required or directed by physicians.
- Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
- Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
- Graduate from an accredited program for practical nursing education.
- 0-3 years' experience required, preferably in an oncology environment.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required within 3 months of hire.
- Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
