Job Summary:

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at Christus Health, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of a physician or registered nurse. Your responsibilities will include performing various lab procedures, obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens. You will also assist providers in examination and treatment of patients, answer phone calls, and schedule test appointments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet the expectations of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Perform basic patient care duties, including obtaining vital signs, weighing patients, and collecting specimens.
  • Assist providers in examination and treatment of patients, and with procedures.
  • Answer phone calls and assist providers with patient-related calls.
  • Schedule test appointments, results, and pre-certification.
  • Document any information related to patient care.
  • Assist providers with medication refills and administer medications/immunizations according to provider order.
  • Clean and restock exam rooms, and clean equipment in accordance with policy.
  • Perform routine clerical duties, including locating patient charts, filing, and completing routine forms.
  • Attend and complete required meetings and in-service training, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • CERT
  • LVN License in the state of employment or compact
  • BLS

Work Type:

Per Diem As Needed
