Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a LVN, you will provide high-quality patient care in a clinic setting, working collaboratively with our providers to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional nursing care to patients, including administering treatments and medications as prescribed.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
  • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure timely flow of patients.
  • Greets patients, obtains well-documented history and vitals, and prepares patients for physical exam.
  • May perform various tasks, including obtaining vital signs, performing initial assessments, and coordinating patient transfers.
  • May administer IV push medications and/or add medications to IV under direct supervision of licensed practitioner.
  • Responds to incoming telephone calls and calls in refills and prescriptions to pharmacy as per provider instructions.
  • Formulates and updates patient care plans, orders, prepares, and inspects patient charts, and posts tests and examination results.
  • Maintains patient files, records, and other information in a professional manner following policies and procedures regarding documentation.
  • Ensures preparation of exam rooms, including re-stocking of treatment areas.
  • Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional licensure and affiliations.
  • Follows CHRISTUS Health guidelines related to HIPAA and maintains strict confidentiality.
  • Uses oral and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas in a clear, positive manner consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission.
  • Maintains established CHRISTUS Health policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
  • Implements job responsibilities in a manner consistent with the CHRISTUS Mission and Code of Ethics and supportive of CHRISTUS Health's cultural diversity objectives.
  • Supports and adheres to CPG Service Guarantee.
Requirements
  • CERT
  • LVN License in state of employment or compact
  • BLS
